TWO WARD DEVELOPMENT FUND PROJECTS IN KYALALANKUBA WARD HANDED OVER

Northwestern Province Permanent Secretary Col. Grandson Wishikoti Katambi (rtd.) says Government will continue to provide vital facilities in the Health and Education sectors, among others, to ensure attainment of quality livelihood for Solwezi residents.
Speaking during the handover ceremony of 1×3 Classroom Blocks at both Kyalalankuba and Kimiteto Primary Schools, Col. Katambi expressed joy handing over infrastructure that will improve the learning conditions of the pupils and teachers.
He however noted with concern the increase in lawlessness among some pupils who he said are often found in wrong places during school hours.
In that vein, he called on parents to discipline their children and instill good morals that will enable pupils concentrate on attaining an education.
Col. Katambi added that education is an important foundation that all parents and pupils must take seriously especially that Government is doing its part by providing infrastructure, qualified personnel and free education.
His Worship the Mayor, Mr. Remmy Kalepa who was also in attendance underscored Government’s commitment to improving the living standards of Solwezi residents through timely and quality service delivery.
Mr. Kalepa noted that his office and the Councillors will continue to monitor all projects being undertaken in the district to ensure their smooth running.
Speaking at the same event, Kyalalankuba Ward Councillor Davy Mubiana said his office will continue working with the WDCs when identifying community project in order for community members to take ownership.
And Solwezi Municipal Council Town Clerk Mr Stanley Mbewe says the Council is committed to ensuring that all the locally generated resources are ploughed back in the community through service delivery.
Mr. Mbewe added that both projects handed over today were financed using locally generated revenue in form of property rates, among other revenue streams.
Meanwhile, Solwezi District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) Mr Jonathan Kayuka has commended the new dawn government for prioritizing the Ministry of Education in its development agenda.
Mr. Kayuka said that Solwezi district has witnessed massive transformation through infrastructure development and the free education policy in the education sector.
The handover ceremony for both Kyalalankuba and Kimiteto Primary School 1X3 Classroom Blocks was held at Kyalalankuba Primary School.
