Earlier in the week, the handover ceremony of one, among other notable accomplishments under the Constituency Development Fund in Kapijimpanga ward, took place where a 1X3 Classroom block has been constructed at Mayonde Primary School.
Since the school’s establishment in 1995, the newly constructed structure becomes the second classroom block.
The ceremony was attended by the Solwezi Central Member of Parliament Hon. Stafford Mulusa who officiated the occasion, accompanied by Solwezi Mayor Mr Remmy Kalepa, area Councillor Mr Alex Pupe, Director Planning Mrs Sandra Mumba who stood in for the Town Clerk Mr Stanley Mbewe and other distinguished guests, besides the Mayonde community in attendance.
During the handover ceremony, His Worship the Mayor Mr. Kalepa assured the residents that the Local Government remained committed to taking further development to every corner of the district.
He highlighted that all twelve wards in Solwezi Central have active or completed CDF projects, reflecting the progress being made under the UPND government.
The Mayor reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to delivering quality services to all residents of Solwezi.
Speaking on behalf of the Mayonde community, Group Leader Mayonde, expressed his delight at seeing CDF projects being completed in his area.
Group Leader Mayonde praised the current UPND government for its focus on development in the area and was hopeful that more projects would follow.
