Solwezi Municipal Council women today held a mini exhibition to showcase diverse products and services of their businesses away from Council work, as part of the activities leading to the Women’s Day celebrations tomorrow.
The exhibition was aimed at promoting each other’s businesses and enhance visibility of Council women entrepreneurs which coins well with this year’s International Women’s Day focus that is calling on investing in women and girls to accelerate their progress.
Hence, the initiative provided an excellent opportunity for Council female officers to market and sell their products and professions, provide them with a platform for potential buyers and enable them to generate additional orders.
Council staff derived from various departments sold products and services ranging from décor, food staff, beddings, hair products and cosmetics, among others. Departments like Planning took time to enlighten the male Council Officers that visited their stand on the Join in Circuit while Public Health Officers showcased the Tyvek suit worn for infection prevention and the Sprayer pumps that are used in disinfecting in times when there are outbreaks such as covid.
The women Council Officers have expressed their sincere gratitude to the office of the Town Clerk for the support shown for the staff to support each other’s unique businesses and contribute to the economic empowerment of Council women.
