The ceremony was attended by the Town Clerk, Mr. Stanley Mbewe, Solwezi United Football Club Committee Vice Chairperson Mr. Castro Chisanga, Club General Secretary Mrs. Exhildah Kabutu, Executive Committee members, Solwezi United FC technical bench and players.

Speaking during the event, His Worship the Mayor who is also the Patron of the Club, reaffirmed the Council’s unwavering commitment to supporting both the players and the executive. He encouraged the team to remain focused and united as they continue to rise on the league table.

Town Clerk Mr. Stanley Mbewe urged the players to work hard and aim higher, emphasising that with determination, the team can reach the playoffs and eventually compete in the National League.

The Mayor then officially unveiled the new season’s kit and training equipment, which comprises: three sets of jerseys, fully stocked first aid kit and medical bags, footballs, shin guards, ladders, soccer boots, cones, poles, corner flags, goal nets, cooler boxes, among others. The kit/equipment was received on behalf of the team by the Committee Vice Chairperson and executive members.

In a gesture of motivation and appreciation, the prize money of K30,000, awarded during the recently held Mabanga Independence Tournament sponsored by Solwezi Central Member of Parliament, Honourable Stafford Mulusa, was distributed among the team players and the technical bench as a token of recognition and encouragement.
