Today, His Worship the Mayor of Solwezi, Mr. Remmy Kalepa, witnessed the donation of 35 hospital beds, 3 neonatal beds and 5 side cabinets to Solwezi General Hospital.

The donation was made possible through a partnership between the First Lady of the Republic of Zambia, Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema, and Stanbic Bank, aimed at addressing the shortage of essential equipment in maternal and child health care.
North Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr. Luckson Mulumbi, received the items on behalf of Government and commended both the Office of the First Lady and Stanbic Bank for their support. He noted that the gesture will greatly improve the quality of care for expectant mothers and infants while supplementing Government’s ongoing efforts in the health sector.
Also present at the event were District Commissioner Mulofwa Tiki, Senior Hospital Superintendent Dr. Kitanda Sondashi, Provincial Health Director Dr. Luckson Chidikita, Senior Government officials and hospital staff.

As part of its continued collaboration with local communities, Stanbic Bank will tomorrow partner with Solwezi Municipal Council in a Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy campaign at Kyawama Market from 07:00 to 09:00 hours. Members of the public are encouraged to take part in this important exercise.
