Kimasala Ward’s newly sworn in Councillor, Phillip Tapula, has officially begun his journey in office with a comprehensive orientation aimed at equipping him for effective service delivery and representation.
The orientation, led by the Acting Director of Human Resource and Administration in collaboration with the Committee Office, is covering a wide range of essential topics. These include: the Standard Orders and Rules of Debate, the Legal Framework governing Local Authorities, the Mandate and Functions of Local Government, and the crucial role Councillors play in promoting good governance.
Councillor Tapula was also taken through proper etiquette during Council meetings and other procedural matters necessary for the effective conduct of Council business.
The session will ensure that the newly elected civic leader is well prepared to carry out his responsibilities in line with established guidelines and expectations.
