The Pre-World Environment Day debates concluded today with the final round, where Kikombe Secondary School emerged as the overall winner. We commend all participating schools for their spirited engagement and thoughtful arguments throughout the competition.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our sponsors; Kansanshi Mine, JAIDS Wholesaling and Retail, Forestry department, the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), Wana Cleaning Services, NACHEM, Nvumabaranda, Solwezi Municipal Council and other partners from both the public and private sectors whose contributions have been instrumental in the success of this program from the very beginning.
This year’s World Environment Day will be commemorated under the global theme: “Ending Plastic Pollution.” The district event is scheduled to take place at Mitec Market on Thursday, 5th June 2025.
We encourage members of the community to join us as we reflect on our environmental responsibilities and take collective action toward a cleaner, healthier future.
